TechSmith Audiate

TechSmith Audiate is an application very near and dear to my heart. After coming up with the concept years ago, I was given resources to make my vision into a product. Working as both the Technical Product Manager and Designer, I run an incredibly talented team that makes Audiate. Audiate makes audio editing as easy as text, and we released the first version in April of 2020. Since then, we've been updating Audiate with a constant stream of new features, making audio editing accessible to anyone.

Product Management

As the product manager I work with my team development team, driving every day towards making our customers successful. I am also responsible for communicating with internal and external stakeholders and partners, to ensure that we are meeting (and exceeding!) all of the different expectations for the product. A sampling of my responsibilities with Audiate include:

  • Product Vision
  • Backlog Prioritization and Refinement
  • Communication with stakeholders
  • Competitive analysis
  • Market Insights
  • Customer Interviews
  • External communication with customers and partners

Design

As the designer, I was responsible for coming up with all of the workflows and visual language of Audiate. Setting out, my goal was to make Audiate so easy to use that anyone could make professional sounding audio. Some of my responsibilities as a designers include:

  • Creation of features to solve user problems
  • User testing and research
  • Mockups of workflows and interactive prototypes
  • Creation of visual language
  • Final in-product graphics

Marketing

While not a marketer by trade, I'm skilled at creating engaging video content to show off a product. I was asked to contribute to our marketing efforts with Audiate by creating a splashy video to describe the product to the world and what it can do. All visuals, audio, and music were done by me.
